What an interesting place this was to stay in! If you like the antique style and don't mind a few spiders you will love this place. The site is beautiful and the owner is happy to let you explore if you ask. Outside spa is lovely though takes at least an hour to fill. The place was clean enough but the floors could have done with more of a sweep and the spa needs a proper clean. Highly recommended though despite these minor things.

The place is very private. A nice getaway place. We were welcome by a herd of sheep as we entered. We contacted the owner before we arrived, he said to meet him at the "house on the left", it was very hard to find, as there were fences everywhere! As you approach the station, there is a gap on the fence (not a formal gate) on the left, it will lead you to the owner's house. If you are on Vodafone, make sure you contact the owner way beforehand, as there was no coverage there. The owner offered to give us 2L of milk from his fridge, make sure you take it, as there is only 200ml of milk in the station's fridge which is not enough for breakfast. The owner was very nice (and very chatty), he showed us where everything is, eg how to operate the outdoor spa, the backup power etc. The outdoor spa was relaxing, we enjoyed it so much. Just remember the spa took about an hour to fill, you may want to fill half of it first and just top up with hot water afterwards. The train carriages were amazing, there were 3 re-decorated train carriages - living room, kitchen/bathroom and the bedroom carriage. There is only a King size bed, so the station can only accomodate a couple. The good thing is, you have the whole station by yourself and not have to share. We took lots of wonderful photographs. The bottle of wine cannot be found! Breakfast were 3 packs of cereal, the size is huge, each pack was about 3x of the kellogg's size. So, make sure you take the milk if the owner offer it to you! There were plenty of cobwebs which is what you would expect in a country area. So, if you are a "city" person who expects complete cleanliness, this place is not for you. If you like antiques and want a romantic gateaway, this place is for you, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. eg watching the sunset and the stars in the outdoor spa and being surrounded by kangaroos and sheep.

The accommodation has great potential, a wonderful theme but is let down by general maintenance. There was mouse poo on the sofa and sitting chair in the lounge, many dead fly's and cobwebs around the windows and on the floor. A diry rag left in the middle of the kitchen floor. No tea, coffee or sugar and the breakfast hamper consisted of a small packet of cereal (not at all what I would consider a breakfast "hamper"!) A real shame that such a beautiful property and unique accommodation is let down by poor management.

After paying for the accommodation, it took a very long time and assistance from the tourist bureau on several occasions to contact the property manager to find out how to get keys etc. Very disappointing and frustrating and would not recommend on the basis of this alone. Was also told 'breakfast provisions' would be provided. There was no coffee, 4 tea bags, 200ml of milk and a few packets of porridge. The heating did not work in the kitchen and there was no heater in the bedroom although the information at the property referred to one. The floors did not look like they had been vacuumed for some time. The outdoor furniture was covered in dirt and grit and the barbecue did not look useable. The good points were the private and secluded location, the wildlife and the wonderful train carriages. Has potential if managed better.
