Grampians Retreat - Halls Gap, Grampians

We were pleasantly surprised from the first. Accommodaton is spacious and everything was there, including egg rings for cooking on the BBQ. There were 10 of us and the hot water was not an issue for showering etc. Location superb walking distance to shops, Sunday market, Close (short driving distance)to the pinnacle, or you can walk up the steep side from the caravan park nearby. Overall a perfect accommodation in a perfect setting.

The houses are in a great position although we were disapionted when only 1 house has working facilities. 1 BBQ not working, 1 toaster available, pool table ruined beyond and use, fruit found behind couch cushions, bedding suppied incorrect for bed sizes, smoke dectectors not working ( no batteries ) clothes dryer stopped working every five minutes. If it had more maintenance it would be a great place to come back to.

We enjoyed our stay the house was spacious and close proximity to the town centre the only thing we found that the cooking utensils might need to be upgraded as we were looking for a large pot but there was none to be found

While we agreed that it was a great location and good value for money we are extremely disappointed with the service. On 3 occasions we have contacted them with regard to the cleanliness, once by phone and twice by email, and we have not received one response. This is what we spoke about: The carpets had not been cleaned, there were straws, lolly wrappers and bugs on the floor and ash and wood around the fire. The rubbish had not been removed, it was still in the inside bin, including half a tub of yoghurt and vegetables. There was a plate with brown stinking water and mould under the sink. So before we could unpack and use the facilities it was necessary to vacuum throughout the house and mop the floors, wipe down the surfaces and disinfect the toilet. Over the past few years we have started to rent houses for holidays and we would have to state that we have always found them clean and tidy and we were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of this house. Therefore, we feel strongly that there should be some financial compensation because of this. We are disappointed to request this because it is the first time we have had to do so. We left the house extremely clean, vacuuming and mopping throughout upon our exit. Otherwise we found it a lovely place to stay. Would someone please follow this up - for the first time we are very dissatisfied with the cleanliness of this house and the total disregard to our feedback!

Two great houses in a fantastic location. The kids loved seeing the kangaroos out the back door and the walk from the back of the house to Clematis Falls was great.

Grampians Retreat -Back house was really awesome. Thanks for all the wonderful facilities in the house! My friends and i enjoyed our stay. With kangaroos and friendly neighbours. Definitely will be back if there is a chance to!

This was a fantastic place to stay with two families - it had everything we needed, and the location was second to none - both for access to walks but also the football oval and township. Wish we'd stayed longer!
