Beautiful place, We had 2 families staying and there was plenty of room for all of us, we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The wildlife in the backyard was amazing. We saw Emus, Kangaroos, heaps of different birds and even frogs came up and were stuck to the windows at night - the little kids loved that! The kitchen was very nice and well equipped. The spa bath was our only complaint - the jets were not properly cleaned out and were very dirty. When we gave the kids a bath and didn't even turn the jets on, there was bits of dirt floating in the water before we even put them in, a bit gross. There is no way I would have been game to turn the jets on for fear of what would have come out them. I would suggest to the owners to get the spa bath professionally cleaned out and have the pipes flushed out so that guests can enjoy that beautiful spa bath. Overall though it was a very enjoyable stay, lovely house and we would definitely come and stay again!

We had a fabulous 2 nights at Classic Retreat - loved cooking on the BBQ on the verandah with the view of the mountains and peace and quiet, and then moving inside when it became cold and enjoying the wood fire and comfort of the lounge and big windows to the garden. There were kangaroos somewhere around the garden most of the day and the children loved the spacious property and were safe without traffic etc.

Lovely place to stay. Was pleasantly suprised when we opened the door and saw how spacious and clean the house was. The beds were really comfortable and having wildlife in the backyard was a treat. The only disappointing thing was that the stay was not long enough. Looking forward to returning in the near future. Lucy and Andrew Smith

The accommodation is outstanding - beautiful design, light and with everything you could want. Great log fire, beautiful kitchen. The welcoming kangaroos were a bonus and the scenery was amazing.

Lovely well furnished and equipped home with the most amazing views and lovely garden to look out onto. We had a much needed rest and relaxation in this peaceful setting with wildlife and birds. Highly recommended.

We holidayed in January 2011 and were caught in the flash floods that severely affected Halls Gap. Despite that putting a damper on our stay, the accommodation facilities were terrific. In one of the bedrooms the fan was broken, so we phoned the owners and they arranged a replacement the same day. During the floods there was considerable uncertainty about how long it would take before the roads would open and we could leave; the owners Bruce and Fiona were very understanding and helpful in these difficult circumstances. As promised, there was a parade of wildlife past the windows, with kangaroos, an emu and a peacock all frequently visiting. Overall, couldn't fault the facilities.

Fabulous house and facilities in great location. We had a succession of visiting animals which the kids and adults loved. We enjoyed the space inside as well as the environs outside. We hope to be back soon.

Classic retreat was exceptional, it had everything that you could possibly want and then some. I would highly recommend this accomodation to couples and families as it has something to offer a wide demographic. The wildlife and views from the house were wonderful, very relaxing just to stay in!! Halls gap itself was beautiful and I will most certainly be returning in the future. Kind Regards Debbie Grogan

Spacious & luxurious accomodation in a stunning spot with lots of woldlife and views. We loved the style and quality of all the furnishings and loved the extra touches with bath products, firewood, matches, highchair, loads of towels etc. The only thing we could fault was the smoky smell in the house which left a lot of our clothes (and baby!) smelling smoky but they obviously had an issue with a blocked chimney in the past. Overall this is a great house to rent and the owners so helpful when we got a bit lost in Halls Gap. Highly recommended!

We would highly recommend this house - (already have to our friends and family) it is beautiful. Attention to detail, little things you do not expect to find in a holiday house such as toiletries, plenty of towels, quality fittings,comfortable furniture etc. The house was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The magnificent location just topped it all off. We hope to return sometime soon.

We loved our stay made most enjoyable by the accommodation. It is possibly the best of its type we have ever used here or overseas. Lots of small things had been thought of - provision of wood fro the fire, matches to light it and a clean bar b que for instance. That topped off the what is a very comfortable house.

We stayed here in the 40 degrees heatwave. We still thoroughly enjoyed our stay though. It isn't the cheapest but it is great value for such a brilliant house -stunning views and so clean and well presented! We will most definitely be back in winter when it will be cool enough to do a bit more outdoors. Can highly recommend this for couples. It would also make a great spot for families.
