Holiday Heights Cottage - Grampians, Halls Gap

We had a very comfortable and cosy stay. Lots of wildlife right outside and loads of birds came to sit on our balcony each morning. A great spot to stay for your holiday in the Grampians.

The house was located about 1 km from the centre of town As such it was easy to walk into Halls Gap. The place was a good size for two couples, although with only one bathroom I would not have liked to use the third bedroom. That would have been too cramped. We had a great time, and would certainly use the property if and when we returned to that area.

So pleased you enjoyed the location of Holiday Heights which is in a lovely quiet area celebrated by the orchestra from the native birds who are so tame they sit on our verandah railing and unfortunately at times, the cockatoos eat our wooden outdoor furniture and parts of our railings! On many occasions we have had 3 couples stay who leave us not only with excellent feedback, but also come to visit us many times again which is very heart warming as we do our best to present the property in a very clean and welcoming condition at all times. Loved everything about our stay at Holiday Heights in the Grampians. The house was awesome with its raked ceilings, open living area and great views. A highlight every day was sitting on the balcony and having all the wild life, especially birds, come right up to you. We will definitely be back. We left with a lot of great new memories. Thanks

Lovely place, great walk into the village via the new foot path.Halls gap is lovely and so is the cottage. Couldn't work out how to work the gas heating and couldn't find instructions so the house was rather cold but at least there where lovely electric blankets on beds. Maybe update brochure box too.Overall I would recommend holiday heights as it is very quiet, secure and has lovely facilities. Thank you for the stay.

Dear Moira, Wish you had given us a phone call and we could have informed you that the A4 size Information Booklet was on the magazine table with the phone book. The large fan-forced gas space heater only needed the red button pushed to turn it on, and the reverse cycle air conditioner also only needed turning on - so sorry you endured the cold when two forms of heating were right at hand. I loved the way everything worked properly. The heater was so good I had to turn it down after an hour, in one of the coldest weeks of the year. Took my bike and found to my delight a bike path just down the front. The house is simple but well designed. Great verandah around two sides to watch the kangaroos from and see the local birds on the verandah rail looking you in the eye. Of course no-one feeds them, they just like looking at humans! Great local food if you hunt for it. Butcher at Stawell had some of the best squab pigeons I've ever had: not to everyone's taste I know but they went well with the cold weather.

We are told however, that it is better not to feed them in case they become dependent on hand-feeding and loose the knack for finding their own tucker! Doubt that will happen though as they are so smart. We are always happy to welcome our guests back again and it spurs us on to make sure everything is clean and comfortable for them. Had a great stay! Fantastic cottage in a great location not far from the centre of Halls Gap but far enough away to be private. The cottage was warm and clean, and the wildlife friendly (even if they did eay the outside antennae!). Will definately stay there again in the future.

As we only have the one Holiday rental Cottage we take the time to present it as clean and as comfortable as we can, keeping our maintenance up to date with everything working, including replacing furniture etc showing signs of wear. We really do appreciate it when our guests take the time to tell us how much they appreciate our efforts and comment on the loving holiday they had at "Holiday Heights"! We think the only great disadvantage in returning to the same accommodation was that there was only one bathroom/toilet.

We find that the large majority of our guests keep on returning so must manage quite well with the one bathroom and the separate toilet room. I know that to book accommodation having two bathrooms and two separate toilets (eg five star accommodation) comes at a much greater cost. Suppose it comes down to how much guests are willing to pay whether they select a four star or five star holiday homes. We cater for guests wanting quiet, clean, spacious, very comfortable accomm having wonderful views, lots of bird life with kangaroos etc visiting.

We had a nice time at Halls Gap the accomadation was one of the best places we have booked for a long time we will book this again in the new year
